Assassin's creed 2 startup problem

Hello,I had posted this question earlier also.
I have assassin's creed 2 on my comp and when I start it using Gameranger 3.0, I click the play button and the screen becomes black which shows that the game is starting, but it reamins black i.e it gets stuck
. I cannot do anything, not even CTRL+ALT+DEL does not do a thing and the only thing I can do is directly switch off the computer through the CPU. PLZ HELP More about : assassin creed startup problem
