I just recently completed my gaming rig and i have run into a little problem. When i play really hardware demanding games i get an error that from my nvidia card saying that it has lowered its performence setting to prevent damage. It says to make sure all connections are plugged in which they are. Then it says that i might not have enough power going to it so i was wondering if 420W power supply is enough for my system?

My system specs
AMD Athlon64 4000+
Thermaltake 420W power supply
1 gig of corsair XMS memory
seagate 80 gig hard drive
BFG GeForce FX 6800 gt oc pci-E
Windows XP pro

you can get a 600W+ PSU that is not sufficient for your system, it all depends on the quality of the PSU
