Ok, let's see if some one can actually respond normally to me...rather then
just trying to be funny and dig up all the hatchets.
If you have the VX4500 phone, how do you like it? I'm a huge Nokia fan, but
unfortunately Verizon doesn't carry any good ones. My father who lives 80
miles away has the VX4500 told me he likes it a lot and has some very good
voice recognition built into it. My father being in his late 50's thinks
anything that's battery operated and small is nice. Well, if you have
"personal" input on this phone please feel free to respond.

I love the phone but make sure that you have the lastest software which is
ver. 4 . I use it with an extended battery which adds a little weight which
I love and gives me huge time to use the phone without battery problems. The
speaker is great and the voice recognition is also loud and great. I love
it and recommend it.

I just got a VX4500 and so far I think it's excellent. I've been using it in "driving mode" which enables the phone to respond to voice inputs for completely hands-free dialing and talking (speakerphone or earpiece). Voice quality is also good when holding the phone normally (to my ear). I chose the VX4500 for the voice command support, the outside "caller ID" window, the ringers that actually sound like a phone, and the absence of a camera. The price is especially good from Amazon.com, but checkout my earlier thread (search for Amazon.com in this NG) for additional info before going that route.

What has been changed in the software since the phone was released? Is
it really worth taking the risk of Verizon techs killing the phone when
they attempt to upgrade it? Verizon killed my Kyocera 2235 that way.

How can you tell what version of the software is running?

Mine says T45VZV01. Is that version 1? If so, what is different
between this version and version 4?
