I recently purchased an Enermax Noisetaker 420 Watt PSU. Installed it, turned on the machine, worked fine. Two days later, I sit down to find that the Computer is off, and the supply appears to be dead. Obviously I need to return the failed unit, but I'm curious to know if this is something I need to expect. Enermax has a pretty good reputation, no? Should I try to switch manufacturers, or did I just get a bum unit?

Even if it is dead, don't let that discourage you from buying another Enermax product. Enermax is a fine power supply manufacture. Every PSU manufacture has a bad lemon once in a while, even the almighty Power PC & Cooling.

1. This PSU is significantly more powerful than I need, I only upped it to make sure my video card didn't burn out the old one.
2. I figure its dead because it doesn't work......after its been unplugged (from the wall, and from all the mobo connections) and after I went through the Enermax troubleshooting steps.
Thanks guys
