It's a Windows service that handles DHCP and printers. It can also be associated with worms/viri, so you might want to make sure you have the latest virus definitions for your AV and do a scan. If that doesn't work, uninstall, reboot, then reinstall your network adapter.

If you were to go under your Local Area Connection - Properties, you might see "Microsoft TCP/IP version 6" - Just uninstall that and you should keep the standard TCP/IP installed.
