Hi there!
Since I've been using Windows XP Pro, far in the beta program, I've
been wondering which is the best backup tool available. I tried the
included Windows Backup utility, but it doesn't seem to copy all open
files (in particular the .DAT with the user information at Documents And
Settings). I thought that VSS should take care of it? Any way to fix
that without having to do an offline backup?
Open File Manager can handle it, but then you end up buying two
products, the backup utility and OFM itself. Then I tried Double
Image-O, which comes all in one, but doesn't have the password
protection (could be fixed by encrypting the folder the files are being
backed up, or by restricting access to it) nor good compression system
(yet, because I read it is the next thing to come). Other products only
copy the whole drive and you can't just select any particular folder.
So far I think that Double Image-O is the right one, but who knows one
of you could enlighten me? ;-)
Thanks in advance...
