Dear Reader, I was looking at a CDROM of Rover Parts List Prices (EPC) when
their programme wiped all my OUTLOOK EXPRESS AND MY PICTURES FILES.
NO PROB I thought I'll recover them from a restore point one month ago.
Ran that OK BUT !!! It did NOT put my personal files back......
They are still in there as deleted filed on my hard disc
ANYONE Know how to make MICROSOFT restore my files as it says it can ....
Any suggestions of help would be gratefully received, Thank you David

System Restore does not restore user files, like My Pictures or your email,
nor was it designed for this purpose.

Thanks Bert. Before your post I purchased PC Tools Software called "File
Recover"
which found elements of 15K User Files. It states 99.8% success of recovery
and lists them with 25KB or 98 KB recovered but when I try to open these
Family Photos in Picture form I get the message "No Preview Available " and a
blank pictureviewer window! Am i in the wrong program to view recovered
photos and if so how can I change them all to open in ?? Window Explorer or
whatever you recommend. Many Thanks for your help. KooKaluKs.

Hi,
Is the file extension intact? Such as example.jpg
Download and install IrfanView. Select the image types you would like to view with
IrfanView. Or after installed, go to Options - Properties - Extensions tab and select the
image types there.
It's a great little image viewer and much more. And the best part, it's FREE.
