as far as fan lifetime , does 7 volting fans make them
burn out quicker / less reliable ??
or is it best to use a controler , Zalman FanMate 2's
are cheap to buy if necessary
I'm sending out a few systems to my brothers as presents
for the upcoming holidays , they know very little about hardware so I need them to be reliable ,but I like them to be quiet also
thanks

Fans don't normally burn out. Lowering the voltage lowers the fan speed and should make the bearing last longer.
