Hello, i just recently purchased a retail version of Fallout 3 GOTY and updated it to 1.7.
But when ever im around a semi-large amount of npcs my fps drops to 30-40 even on low settings. When i first got it and it auto detected it put my settings on low, which is weird because when it did that for skyrim it put it on high.

Im getting this issue as well, but my hardware is much higher than yours :/

Intel core i7 2860QM
8GB RAM 1600MHz
2 x nVidia GeForce GTX 580M's

The weird thing is, I can play Skyrim on MAX settings with constant 60fps.

Just to confirm we both have the same problem, when you face a wall you get 60fps but down a corridor you get about 30ish?

I just found out that the same issue had happened on Oblivion, so I did a complete re-install of my nVidia drivers (301.24 Beta) (Clean Installation) and now is all well :)

Try it out!

Install driversweeper, uninstall your graphics drivers, boot up in safe mode, use driversweeper to remove the rest of your graphics drivers, boot up in normal mode, install latest driver version.
