How bout dem apples...

For those of u uninterested in reading through that short essay. Basically Intel supposedly said forget the 240VA limit and the dual+ 12v line.

And? Dual lines never made sense to me, which is why I never made an excited comment about them. And so it turns out, they never made sense to power supply manufacturers either.

Then there was the dork that replied "It only takes 0.2A to kill a person" or whatever, 12v car batteries are closer to 14v and 500A or more, I've never seen anyone electricuted by one (or even shocked for that matter, the resistance through your body is too high).

And then what? Put your hand across both terminals of a car battery using your ring finger and thumb...oh, you can't do that, you have asian hands! Well anyway, you won't feel a shock because your skin has too much resistance at 12v.

You actually need to cross a shorter section of skin...try putting 12v across your tongue! LOL.

lol...i once accidentally dropped a fishing wire/net/cage/thing on a battery for an electric motor...i was holding a rope...scared the crap outa me...lol, it made a sparking noise and turned red at the bottom in all of about 2 seconds, or however long it took me to be scared and yank, then dodge (cuz i stupidly yanked it straight up...back at myself).

Yea the current won't jump to you unless its real high or you're holding something metal...lol. I have shocked myself a few times on one socket or another...as well as in a psu. I think the psu was the worst heh. Threw my hand in to the wall...was weird. Or maybe i just yanked and didn't realize it. Felt like my whole arm and chest siezed up at once.

The higher the voltage, the more current passes. The lower the resistance, the more current passes. It's all part of Ohm's law or whatever it's called, you know, V=IR. It's why you can weld 1 inch steel with 18v, yet barely notice any current passing through yourself from an 18v power source.

When I was about 10 years old, I grabbed ahold of the sparkplug on my gocart then pulled the cord! Boy did that knock the friggin crap out me! I dont think I touched that thing for a week untill my dad told me why it shocked me!

Any idea how much current runs through a sparkplug?

Im serious! I PEEEEEDDDDDD all over the fence and myself  My father is truely a mean muther f----! I didnt even know the man until I was 5 or 6 years old, but that is probably a blessing. We were either out fishing or hunting that day when I decided it was PP time. Just so happens that I was standing next to an electrict fence. I probably would have PEEEEDD on the fence anyway, he just added some insurance. Back in my highschool days, a friend of mine was convinced that I made the story up and that there was no way that I would have been shocked even if I did PP on this fence. After a couple of hours of arguing about it, he decided to prove me wrong. Any idea of how or what he did to prove that I was full of BS?

LMAO, he will never doubt me again!!!!!!

I remember it like it happened 10 mins ago. Its strange how it hits you, there is little doubt that something bad just happened but it takes a few secs before the real pain hits. The old prostate even lites up :frown:

Car spark plugs carry around 80,000volts (yes, 80 thousand) - maybe it's only 50k, but in any case, that's a lot - but at micro-amps (i.e., 0.001A - don't remember the actual number)

Mike.
