Hi

On an Verizon Audiovox 8900 does anyone know if it's possible to make
a phone number in any given entry the default?

E.g., I have several entries where I have stored the mobile, home and
office phone numbers. I don't want to always call the mobile number
for these contacts, but the phone seems to default to that entry and I
haven't found a way to change it selectively so that for some entries
it would dial the home number of office number when I push the SEND
key.

Anyone know if this is possible and if so would share the information?
Doesn't seem that far fetched of a feature request to me, so I am
surprised I haven't been able to figure this out.

Thanks,
Esmail

I am reading your question two ways so I'll try to answer them both inline.

You could "fool" it. It always shows the mobile number first since that's
the one it asks for first. If you think you'll call a person at home or
office more often, then put that as their mobile number and it will default
to that number. You'll just have to remember which entries you do that
with.

Easiest: When you find your contacts name the first number that shows up is
their mobile (little cell phone icon next to the number). Use the round
function key by pushing left or right and it will scroll through all the
numbers you have input for that contact with the corresponding icons (house,
office building, etc.). Find the number you want and hit SEND.

Ah, I hadn't thought of that .. but I'd be sure to forget and mess up ;-)

Yup, that's what I have been doing, and it works fine, just as the
speed-dial can be used, but I would have thought that the ability to
designate a default number for a given entry would have been a fairly
standard feature on a cell phone, but I'm new to these, so I wanted to
make sure I didn't miss anything.

Thanks for your post, much appreciated.
