Low fps and Fps Drops-Battlefield 3

Core 2 Duo E8400 3.6
Nvidia GTS 450 2GB
4gb ram ddr3
windows 7 64 bit
1440x900 75Hz

so i have normal fps(i play on low)40-50 on B2K
and the problem is that it has some fps drops every 5 seconds or so
one time fps is 50 after 20 and back up
is it a memory leak or something else??
can anyone help me??
also is my pc so bad that i can't mantain 50 or 40 stable fps without dropping to 30s??
GPU usage is so low 50-60

no, your system is just not enough, when i had a e8400 and a 560ti my battlefield 3 was also laggin even on medium settings what is not good for a 560ti, so when i changed my cpu problem fixed, my cpu was bottlenecking it, but the problem is that with a GTS450 you will not have much fps also, battlefield keeps the gpu usage at 50-60 when no playing at ultra.

The problem is that you need a 4x cores cpu, go for a i5 2500k it will improve your performance drops, and will allow you to maintain good frames at low-medium graphics.

or find a old quad that will fit your mobo.

and will do a complete one i think
requirements are too high for battlefield 3
