I'm fairly new to PC gaming and I just built my first rig. Here is the specs:

Intel i5 2500k
Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 1GB
8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
ASRock Z68 Pro3 Gen3 Mobo

Like I said, it's brand new, however it has been having trouble running some games. For instance, when I run Skyrim on any settings from medium to ultra, I get some noticeable framerate drops when panning the camera indoors or looking at the ground outside. I get similar problems in Witcher 2, it runs beautifully everywhere except when I am moving the main character around and the camera is moving a lot. Keep in my these are framerate drops not lag. The game does not slow down any, just drops frames. Any ideas as to why? My drivers are up-to-date and the only background programs are Microsoft Security Essentials and Steam. Thanks.

hello n welcome,

considering both games are single player and do not require network connection I'm not sure why you even mention lag...

off the bat, do you have vsync on or off?

It would help to know what your utilization and temperatures for GPU and CPU are

version of drivers that you're using and version of the game

also what settings are you running the game on? resolution?

get back with that info and we'll go from there
