Hi

I recently decided to do a clean install of Skyrim (some of my previous mods were playing havoc). I kept my saves to one side and deleted everything skyrim based an downloaded a fresh copy through Steam. Having placed my old saves back into the relevant folder, the game now crashes (during the load screen) every time I try to load an old save game of start a new one. I removed the save files thinking they may be corrupted, but this has had no effect. I have no mods, my graphics drivers are fully up to date, as is the game in what is now a vanilla state.

It all worked fine before I uninstalled and reinstalled. Any ideas why its suddenly gone weird??

Cheers

It could be because your old save's contain data from a modded version of Skyrim.

That could be the case.

That isn't the case, you should be able to start a new game. If you can't then there is another problem...
