So I just bought Deus Ex Human Revolution via Steam.

I had it on my Xbox 360 when it first came out and decided to pick it up again but this time for my PC.

When I launch the game the menu is getting on average 3Fps and topping at 10Fps. In game it was from 25Fps-17Fps the audio was stuttering really bad in cut scenes as well.

My specs.
Motherboard: Gigabyte M68MT-S2
Processor: AMD FX-4100 3.6GHz
Memory: 8GB DDR3
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 6670 1GB
Monitor: Acer Black 20"LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor (recommend resolution is 1600x900)

Can anyone advise me on what to do to improve my game?

None.

I was running the game at default with res at 1600x900.

Yes I believe it is.

Basically I put the res at its lowest turned off everything except V-Sync and lowered the texture filter to bilinear. And had no FPS increase at most maybe 2 frames but the game was already playing at 9-14FPS on the first level regardless of the settings at max and at min.

I have the same card as you, but a gddr5 one. Im also running windows 7 64 bit, but on an i3 3.3ghz. Benchmarks say the game should be played around 30fps with that radeon card, so Im wondering what is causing your issue.

It could be the CPU. I've heard of bulldozer having problems with Dues EX and Serious Sam. The old Phenoms are allegedly better than the dozers. There is a microsoft patch for the bulldozer based systems. Also, you may want to play the game, snap pictures of your task manager and upload them.

I just wrote down what i saw since my Camera has issues focusing on my monitor.

dxhr.exe *32 CPU 29 Memory 524,592k

The 29 for CPU was just where it tended to hover but it was bouncing between 25-32 in game.

What benchmarks?

Edit: Well I saw a review of the PC I have and they tested various games and this is what I found.

"We used FRAPS to benchmark the first two minutes of the first level of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and found that we could get 19FPS on average for the opening cut scene. We lowered the resolution down to 1680x1050 and then 1280x1024 and we were stuck at 19FPS still, so we must be CPU or GPU limited on this game title. "

Well assuming the CPU may be the issue. I did research what you said and it looks like Microsoft released a hotfix for the FX Series because of the issues the FX Series has I'm not completely sure if it will solve the issue but though.

Damn alright well I googled it found a forum post on Steam and I guess some guy made an application that solves the issue for the FX series and he is working on fixing the BIOS for all sorts of Motherboards. I hope it works I guess the downside to the App is that you have to apply the fix every time you start up but if it makes the game playable. I'll take it!

I've read that this CPU is easy to overclock so that's an option. If the other owner of this card posted that their running the same game with the same card it could be the gpu. The weird thing is that the FX8150 get's destroyed by the current high end i7 processing benchmark comparisons with the exception of a few titles, Dues EX: HR being one of them. I ran it on my QX9650 and gtx295 without dx11 and I got excellent fps. I no longer have the game on my hard drive; Is there an option to turn off DX11 support? Try running in DX9.

Well I'll be damned it was indeed an issue with the CPU and the guy who made this program is a god in my eyes right now! lol

I'm in the main menu and getting at least 40FPS on V-Sync and in th100s with it off in game I put the res to 1600x900 and turned the setting to default but I think AA was maxed and I'm getting at least 41FPS but it peaks at 60 as well.

Well I'm okay if I have to run this program every start up as long as I can play me some Deus Ex HR the game is great.

Thank you so much man you helped me solve my issue! =D
