I have an Epox EP-4PCA3+ motherboard with an onboard Broadcom 10/100/1000 NIC. It's got somethign pretty messed up on it, beacuse it freqently just stops working. I but a standard D-link 10/100 PCI nic in, and that works fine. The only problem is that a few times a day, the whole system freezes up and just stops.

Everything in the BIOS is default, and I've ruled out memory as the problem...

I've tried disabling the onboard broacom gigabit, and just running the 10/100 Dlink, which seems to work so far. Id like to use the gigabit though. I've tried assigning the broadcom its own IRQ, but it doesnt seem to take when i set it up in the bios.

Anyone have any ideas?

thanks..

Disable the PnP OS option in your BIOS. If it's set to Yes or whatever the option is to say the OS supports PnP, Windows will over ride your BIOS anytime it wants.
