Steam ... Cloud ?

I recently tried playing a few games on steam on my wifes computer to see if the Steam cloud for saved games was working. Apparently it is not , as I have alot of time sunk into ME2 and Skyrim. Steam says they are available on the steam cloud meaning I should be able to play my saved games on any computer I have my steam account on. . . . Also would like to play on my laptop. however I cannot figure it out and the steam help forum/menus are awful at best. Can anyone offer me any insight into the nature of the problem? Thanks

have u turned steam cloud on on both machines?
right click the game, hit updates, and "check the enable steam cloud" box. let me know if it works

Ahhh ok it is checked for Skyrim but no option is available for Mass Effect 2. Only thing is if I have it checked and have a lvl 48 char in Skyrim why does it say I have 0/50MB used and I cannot access it on the other computers?

have you thought about asking on the steam forums, it seems like a very specific question that they have to have seen before.
