My comupter has the worse time staying stable. When windows 98 is loading programs like the virus scan, messager service, it will crash about 5 times a week when windows 98 is loading. I have all drivers updated, windows updated, every driver install correctly. what could the problem be? This has been happening since i formated to get windows 2k off and reinstalled windows 98. I have a:
Duron 700
Asus av7
gforce 2 mx
128mb pc 133
8.4 gig hd (its an older drive, ata 66 on it i think 7200rpms)
i got the standerd heat sink on the duron, one case fan.

Possibly software conflicts happening here. After which program that you installed did it start happening?

i think it started after i installed mircosoft plus... and some games, but i think it happened a few times before this..
