Never tried one. Heard good things. Think they have a 3 year warranty.

Same here. Their drives have a good rep, I hear. I've bought nothing but WD
and Hitachi/IBM drives for years.

Seagate has recently increased their 1 year warranty to 5 years. And,
it's retroactive for drives shipped after June 1st, 04 - Even if the box
still stays 1 year warranty.

On Sunday 22 August 2004 10:58, the primordial soup was bombarded with
cosmic radiation and a new life form of genus Boenospam emerged to test
it's air breathing capabilities by gasping:

This is good news. I wonder if Maxtor will follow suit? HDDs being the
weakest link in a system these days, it's nice to have a bit of backup and
it made me feel a little cold when they all decided to back off to one year
warranties.

Uptime: Three Fujitsus and a Seagate. ;o)
