If great reception is your key attribute, the Motorola V265.

Kinda like asking what's the best car or best computer-- it depends of what
features are important to you. Perhaps if you told us, we could help you;-)

I like the LG VX4600. It's small, has excellent audio and signal
strength capability, and a high resolution screen. Unfortuanately,
Verizon isn't selling this model at their website or in their stores,
so you'll need to shop around at alternative dealers.

To me, reliably getting and handling signal is the main raison d'etre
for a phone... gimcracks don't motivate me like they do others.
Based on one vendor's testing, Kyocera usually makes the best phones
on this criteria... probably because of their close association with
CDMA creator Qualcomm.
I'm using a Slider right now... keyboard is small and I need to use
fingernails but it seems to go forever without a recharge - a sign the
CDMA firmware is well designed.
The gimcracks show some attention to detail. But to really use some
of them you have to buy the data cable acessories from Kyocera... VZW
tries to force you to 'get it now'... why anyone would pay $2 for
ringtones is beyond me!?!? ... but many do!

convenience.... it's cheaper to do it for a few (same for emailing pics to
use as wallpaper) than it is to buy a cable. Plus, you don't need a computer
handy.
