L1 Bridges :(

I am having trouble connecting my L1 bridges on my thunderbird 900 and a friends duron 650 I have tried the Pencil trick 5 times now on different processors but I still cant increase the multiplier. Am I gonna have to buy one of those conductive pens?
Any sugestions would be gratefully recivied.
My machines specs are:
QDI Kinetiz 7T + thunderbird 900
128Mb PC133 ram
Promise raid 100 card with 3 ATA 100 20Gig drives (level 0)
Geforce 2 GTS 32Mb

I have a TB800@945.

While trying to overclock for the first time, i encountered the same problem.
In my case, the solution was to connect only the first three of the L1-bridges.
BTW, I didn´t use a conductive pen, just a pencil did it as well.

If you dare you can cut the bridges that speficy your original speed and then use the pensil to mark all relevant bridges, that way you are ganranteed to work. Becareful!!!

Use a very fine tips knife.!!!!!!!!

I had probs when I first tried mine, 2 things to do, use a really dark pencil 6B or so, I had no luck using a normal HB one.
Use a clear plastic ruler to help you join the bridges straight any bleed onto the adjacent bridges will cause probs.
