I have a Pentium lll coppermine 800mhz cpu running at 133mhz FSB in an ASUS CUV4X motherboard with Via Apollo Pro 133z Chip Set.

Is it possible to overclock? if so what would be the recommended settings.

I would be very grateful for any advice.

cheers

EBs are generally bad for o/cing
VIA are not as stable as intel 815 or BX... (some mb that is)
RAM is 133 (i assume is -75) which is going to max out at around 140
things are looking bad bro.....

Hi...
I have the same Motherboard and cpu. I have the fsb OCed to 150 resulting in the speed of 900 mhz. It's very very stable. I would recommend a better cooling system than the Intel fan. I switched to a golden orb. it made my CPU temp go from 41 c to 33 c.

Thanks for your reply it is much appreciated.

I have tried increasing the FSB to 150 and windows loads okay(I am using Millenium)but when load complete it crashes to dreaded blue screen with the message "windows has encountered an error" and will not let me continue.
I thought of increasing core voltage to 1.75 (currently 1.7)
but am a bit worried causing damage, what do you think?

I am using an ICYCLE Fan at the moment which gives a board temp of 28 degrees and CPU temp of 37.5 degrees.

cheers

as you probably noticed when you chose the speed for the FSB, there are many options between 133 and 150... i'd step down 1 speed and boot until winME is stable. This problem is proabably cause by your RAM sticks. I also amy running ME and my Hundai (sp?) memory amd windowsME is very stable at 150.

Hi

Again thanks for your help and everybody else who replied with advice it is very much appreciated.

I have managd to get my machine to run at 900mhz. I upped the core voltage to 1.75 from 1.7 and this semms to have cured it. CPU temp is running at 47-51 degrees. Hope this is not too high. Will take your advice and fit Gorb if can find where to buy in this country (UK).

Thanks again
