I have an Abit BX6 v1.0 Motherboard 440BX chipset, 128MB PC100 SDRAM, ATI expert 98 8MB video card, currently o/c Celeron 300A to 450 at 100MHz PSB. I intend to upgrade to Celeron 533A o/c to 800MHz because BX6 can support up to 8.0x multiplier. But 533A is very hard to find, I'm considering 566 or 633 because someone at EBAY suggests that any motherboard will automatically recognize the locked multiplier of 8.5x or 9.0x.

Can somebody tell me whether Celeron 566 or 633 will work on Abit BX6 in my system?

GOOD NEWS. Go to
http://www.overclockers.com/
And go to CPU data base. I'm looking at a post from a guy that has their 566 Celly at a BX6 "original" what ever that means:
"Q011A030-0284 876 1.70 SL46T Malay 0 BX6 original Runs rock solid at 953mhz on my buds BH6. This cpu posts at 1054mhz. How do find out the week? "
You'll like this one better:
"Q015A157xxxxx 876 1.80 SL46T MALAY 15 ABIT BX6 1.0x Abit BX6 1.0x doesn't allow changing voltage using Slocket adapter. I checked it with MSI Master and ASUS, so I have to use voltage adjustment in ABIT BIOS."
Or this one:
"L015Axxxxxx 850 1.50 SL46T MALAY 15 Abit BX6 ver 1 majesty m1, rock steady, 28 C after one hour UT. will test more after i change my mobo. "
Just look it by ur self and also check at other speeds.

Saludos a todos

NO PROBLEM! Bought a cC0 SL4PA Celeron633, set FSB@100Mhz, any multiplier. Baby boot up as Pentium III 906EB? Identified as 952@100 FSB by WCPUID. Rock solid at default 1.7v! Can't believe it.
