should be able to, or if not then very close to it.

U think it would lag a bit or it will run clean ?

clean ish, you certainly won't want to use the first AA method, only the second. Give it a try, its one of the few ways to find out, and it is a demanding game.

That hardware will not run *full* ultra (as in 4x MSAA included) at 60 fps in multiplayer. It will run the game at 60 fps at all ultra settings with 0x MSAA (called deferred anti-aliasing in bf3 options) at 1920x1080. The standard gtx 570 starts to run into issues where you need to turn shadows to high at 1920x1200, however that is due to its 1.28gb vram. Your model has 2.5gb so I would assume you should be fine at that resolution.

I originally had a 570 and on ultra at 1080 and it gave me around 45fps average. But i had drops in the low 30's. Mainly in helicopters and intense combat. At a higher resolution your going to have to drop a few settings though. Mainly AA and motion blur. It will set everything to high when you first start it up with a 570, you can go better than that but it involves increasing what you want and sacrificing on a few things you dont care as much about. I have a hard time sacrificing to get a better frame rate so thats half the reason i brought mine back and shelled out for the 580. The 570 is a great card but you really need a 580 to max out bf3 completely and get 60fps.

Even a 580 won't hold 60 constantly during 64 player maps on ultra with 4x msaa no less =(. The 570 will hold 60 at full ultra but 0x msaa, 580 will do 2x without ever going below 60. At 4x you pretty much need a 7970 or a smaller resolution than 1920x1080 or the maps with long draw distances will still push you into the low 50's.

You're right about motion blur as well but hopefully everyone playing multiplayer has that turned off anyway. No point in handicapping yourself voluntarily.

One thing that does potentially vary any input that the OP will get though is that he has a 2.5gb vram model of the 570 apparently, which almost no one else posting is going to have.

I have the same system but a 2600k and 8 gigs of ram. @ 1920x1080 using the ultra preset I usually get 35-60 FPS. The 35 is very rare, usually 40-60. The lower frames are if crazy *** is everywhere and its not a noticeable slowdown.

Also should mention this is on 64 player maps and modes always. You will be fine.

imo the extra vram will not have any effect in BF3. Maybe it will let you run higher AA. But Ive never hit the 1280mb ceiling.

2.5 gigs would be sick for skyrim, you could run the HD DLC, skyrim HD and vurts flora. It would look sick.:D

Disable deferred anti-aliasing and you will never go below 35 =). Ultra preset enables it and sets it to 4x.

My gtx 580 SC maintains 60fps average with everything turned up. Got it locked to 60, so im not to sure about my highest. Lowest ive seen is low 50's and thats a very rare occasion, usually its when im in a chopper shooting out the side on a big map. But I play nothing but 64 player maps because i mostly play conquest or rush. If i look up and its not at 60 its usually pretty damn close 55+. I love my card, out performs my 570 i have before it any day by an average of 15fps. You wouldnt get 60fps at any higher resolution, but at 1080 you can about 75% of the time.

The real question is what is your MSAA at. Already know from side-by-side benching that certain views in the usual suspects (caspian) and a few views in seine crossing will push the 580 into the 54-55 range (as you said), and those same views will get the 570 to 49-51 (stock clocks for both cards). That is with 4x, as soon as you drop to 2x the 580 never goes below 60 in any scene and the 570 hovers at 56-58 (unacceptable for anyone playing competitively). So like I said, 2x on the 580, 0x on the 570 if you want to only touch 60fps+ and never lower. That is with the rest of the settings at ultra, at resolution 1920x1080.

Idk the exact numbers of what my 580 is set too casual but i know its up to the max. I got home turned the game on and put everything to the max before i even played it. Ive been so happy with the 580's performance i never went back in to the settings to mess with anything. I did the same thing with my 570 i got before, i would have kept the 570 if it wasnt for the low 30's i was getting when the action was really going. Other than that is was cranking out 45fps average. Thats why im saying about the 15fps jump ive been seeing in alot of games. Metro and crysis 2 being the same deal. Im sure its from jumping from a stock 570 to a SC 580. The VRAM on the 570 i had was 2.5gb and the vram on my 580 is 1.5gb. Doesnt really make a difference about vram though because im only playing on 1080 on one monitor. Usually when i see the drop with my 580 its on the new back to karkland maps. im having a complete mind blank on the name of the map it usually happens on though.

Depends on resolution but the 570 is definitely not for multisampling heh. Thankfully BF3 looks better without the post process+multisampling long distance haze imo. Even more thankful my 570 oc'd pretty well lol.

Thank you so much you gave me the exact info I needed :)  Ty !!
