Formatted PC, origin not launching! (moved folder to other hard drive)

ok so I formatted windows and installed a fresh copy and moved origin/bf3 folders to another hard drive so I didn't have to download 12gb + 4gb patch again
now origin won't run
wondering what I should do
windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
legit copy of bf3

are the game files + patch files able to be copied over? I mean, will origin see them as legit files and not re-download them if I re-install origin?
