Strange. Suddenly can't print large images on 11"x17"
paper. Error says "This document failed to print." Done
it hundreds of times. May have to do with upgrade to
Photoshop CS, but can't be sure. I have Win XP with
Service Pack 1. Absolutely everything is up to date.

Two workarounds get the job done. One is to print
directly to printer. The other is to uncheck the "Enable
Advanced Printing Features" option in the HP Color Inkjet
CP1700 Properties window. And it's not even clear what
the advanced printing features are.

Not spooling my printjobs sure would slow me down, so for
now I'm working with the advanced printing features
turned off.

If you turn off advanced features then the spooler will spool the raw print
file rather than the a metafile version of the job. Maybe you have a problem
with lack of disk space?
