Does Verizon have any rates available that they do not advertise? I have
had a verizon phone for the past few years using a $25 dollar-150 minutes
local plan that does not exist anymore. Usually stay with in the
limitations, but I have gone over a few times. Cingular offers a National
plan for $5
more with an extra 100 minutes and unlimited nights and weekends. Is there
an America's Choice plan comparable in price? I would rather stay with
Verizon, but I'll go with the better offer. I have seen that Cingular is
going to announce new rates in about 2 weeks and will probably discontinue
this plan or at least lower minutes offered. I really do not need the
National plan, but for the minutes offered, it sounds good. I live in
Atlanta and all I really need is for Athens to be a free call. Stanley
Cline, if you are reading this, what are your thoughts on Cingular service
in Atlanta?

Thank you
Glen

I just signed a new contract for a $35 / 300 minute plan (the plan I
had for the last year and half) that was not listed on the Verizon
website or in their brochures at the store. Not sure it was ever
listed, think they offered it to me in a mailing.

No, there are no unadvertised plans in my opinion. Advertising to me means:
1) what I see in the paper,
2) what I find as brochures in the store, AND
3) what verizon customer may offer

Or to save yourself time, a phone call to vzw loyalty will tell you all the
programs that may be able to get. $15 pay as you go, is the cheapest, and
it has roll-over. Anything else will cost more AND give you more. Not a
secret at all, although it make take 1 or more calls to find all your
options. This is much quicker than using this notes file, especially
because our answers are just opinions. Easy enough.

Yes, they have a book of unpublished rate plans. Best to get in good
with a store rep and sweet talk them into pulling the book out. They
gave my mother a new Kyo-2325 for free and put her on a $20/25 min/mo.
"low use/cutomer loyalty" plan. I had been a BAM/BANM/VZW customer
for about 7 years when I took her in to get a phone, so I already had
my "in" with them.

I have my mom on a$15/month plan with 25 peak/250 weekend minutes plan.
It was originally an analog $15 with no included minutes. They offered
(without asking) her a new free digital/analog phone (one being phased
out I'm sure) with the above terms with a one year contract. I had her
take it since her old analog only phone would not longer hold a charge.

My mistake. That *is* the plan ($15/mo) my mother is on, also.
