Thunderbird 900 won't acknowledge multiplier 10.5

I've had a go a Thunderbird 900 in a Soltek mainboard, and got it to run 1Ghz by increasing the multiplier to 10x. When I increase the multiplier to 10.5x, the CPU acts as if it was set to 9x, and thus runs at it's default speed. I got it to run at 1050Mhz by increasing FSB frequency, so the CPU is perfectly able to handle the speed.

Could it be caused by improperly closed L1 bridges, or does anybody know of any other reasons?

What is the default voltage of a Thunderbird 900 (the mainboard won't tell me, it just writes "default")?

Default voltage is 1.75 volts for T-Birds. If the L1 bridges were not properly closed then you wouldn't be able to adjust the multiplier at all, so that's not the problem. To me it sounds like the culprit is the motherboard. There might be something physically wrong with its multiplier settings. It could also be that the motherboard manual lists the wrong DIP switch settings for 10.5x. Check to make sure that the switch settings are a logical binary progression from the lowest to highest multiplier settings.

I had similar troubles with my TB800. They went away when I only covered the first three of the L1-bridges.
