When pulling printer drivers from network printers, we
have found (via packet tracing) that the amount of data
transferring the driver to a PC running XP is anywhere
between 5x and 15x more than the data transferred to the
driver used for NT. This was determined via tracing of
the driver download. This is across multiple print
manufactuers (HP, Canon, Lexmark, etc). Are XP printer
drivers that much larger than NT? Could somthing else
explain the wide variation.
