Thanks for the answer.I really like this A7V and the 800 Bird. The only big problem I have is That I can't get the ATI 128 Rage (not pro ) to work right. It wouldn't even run on My P5A with the K6-3 400. I can play the microsoft combat flight and some other game and it freezes the pc. I have troble working with anything over 16 bit color. I have the latest drivers for it and every thing else.I has been a problem child from the start and hardy no help from ATI. I really need to change to a better graphics card, one that is stable ans less conflicts. Bruce

what are you using for cooling? AMD's have a tendency to run hot (or at least they did). games like unreal are sensitive to overclocking, you may want to check into that.

I am using a AMD recomended cpu fan, a case fan plus the fan that is in the power supply. I leave a side off and I can drop the temp by 3. I don't over clock, but have a problem with the ATI expert 128( not Pro ).working right even with all the up dated drivers.I ahve a problem with games like , flight combat freezing up the PC, and running over 16 bit colors. I like the A7V and the 800 bird. It seems to run flawless except for the graphics card. Bruce

Have you tried the latest Via 4in1 drivers that could be the problem (these drivers are for the mobo chipset) they are available at Via's website.

they are version 4.20. This is a PCI graphics card, sitting in the PCI slot next to the AGP. What exactly does the VIA 4 in 1 do for you. Bruce

Well since you are using a pci card they wont do anyting for your vid card. the drivers consist of agp gart, eide busmaster, win inf, and usb. Performance increases noticeably on my system with v4.28(beta). Have you checked for irq conflict?

I show no conflicts between IRQ's, But i did notice that the Via tech 3038 PCI to USB host controller and sound Blaster live both share IRQ 9. Also the Via host controller is listed twice in device manager, becaus I have the extra USB card that came with the A7V hooked up. Bruce

Well just a gues now but see if you can set one of you shared devises to another irq without sharing or conflict with other devises and see if that helps. I have not had any problems with the 4in1 drivers but I dont want to tell you to use them and have them crash your puter. But I think they may help.
