It won't be gory. The reason MOHAA had no blood in it was so it could be sold at stores like Wal-Mart. It'll be the same with Pacific Assault.

I am sorry. But that is a PERFECT example of commercialism at it's worst!

EA could either, make a truly realistic game by adding gore -OR- tone the violence down so they can make more money. Hmmmmm. What would I, the greedy business man, do?

Exactly.

But on a less bitter note, this game does look fantastic. The pic showing water ripples made by gunshots looks pretty amazing.

I can't wait for this game. If only they would add blood. :frown:

I don't see anything greedy about it. It's capitalism at its best. Besides, you can't tell me that if a person had a legitimate scheme or product they could make tons of money from that person would sit on it or give it away for free because they didn't want to be seen as greedy.
When it comes down to it, as long as its fun what does realism have to do with it? Look at Battlefield 1942 and MOHAA, both are fun but both lack realism.

Capitalism at it's best for f'n EA, yea. But for us the mindless pee-on consumers? Nothin'. Ok, sure, the games are still fun without blood but is THAT the only reason it's not in there? And that's makes no sense anyway considering Wal-Mart sells movies that have blood in them. Just stick an M rating on it. Oh, haha, nevermind. That would take away from part of EA's target age group. And less dough.

Spin it how you want, it sucks. I want blood.

It doesn't look to be an expansion set. But I'm looking forward for this game. 32 players for multiplayer, looks good to be true!!!

Just think though, it will give the mod community another oppurtunity to practice their skills and make a blood patch(es) for the new game just like they did for MOHAA.

If you want blood, you should keep your eye on Call of Duty. It's a WWII FPS being developed by former employees of 2015 (the developers of MOHAA) that WILL have blood in it. I'm not sure of the release date, I've seen either Fall 2003 or the middle of 2004. Either way it looks like it'll be out before MOHPA since it looks like that one has been pushed to late 2004.

There are plenty of blood patches for MOHAA and I'm pretty sure that there will be for Pacific Assault as well.

I WILL NEVER forget the Omaha Beach Landing in the orginal. That was the most intense and emotional gaming moment I had ever seen. I'm not kidding when I say my hand was twitching when I saw that boat get blown, with bodies flying, hearing a low voice praying to God for the last time. I know one or two people who shed a tear or two when playing that scene. Amazing.

You know, I had written off FPSs as no more than glorified arcade games (ala "House of the Dead" ) and then I played the demo for MOHAA. That changed my ignorant mind about FPSs and I realized that there was more to them then just killing alot of people. I've been hooked on some FPS (Jedi Outcast{although not really a FPS after the third mission} UT2k3, Battlefield 1942 et al.....) games since.

If a game is good, then gore/no gore doesn't matter much. MOHAA: Allied Assault was so good that I didn't fell the absence of gore
