What is the fastest stable anyone has got a 1.1ghz athlon to using only a normal hsf (no peltier/water coolers). Waht fsb/multiplier have you used. using a abit kt7a i can get 1333Mhz stable. but i recon 1.4Ghz is possible.

From my personal experience you can expect about 200mhz over stock from a tbird w/ aircooling. For that speed proc I would use an FOP38 or Superorb. With watercooling and the voltage mod about 300-350 is possible. Right now I'm runnin a 700@945 (111*8.5@1.9vcore) w/ a superorb in a A7V. My advice is to get the highest possible fsb with whatever multi it will take. Use the multiplier to find the speed cap and then find the right combo of fsb and multi to hit that speed. If you give me a run down of your syste config and operating enviroment I could tell you what to expect. Let me know, laterz.

What kind of fsb speed can I get out of my Soyo K7VTA-B & tbird 1000 with a Chrome Orb? I've heard that the via chipset insn't very o/c friendly. I seem to recall that 110mhz is pushing the limits of the chipset. By the way, I have excellent case cooling and a old 486 cpu heatsink with a sticky copper bottom surface. How do I mount the h/s on the northbridge? And will that help? Thanks for you help.

I dont beleave the heatsink will help the issue does not apear to be heat related but rather timing of the chipset seems to be of just enough to prevent higher fsb speeds.
