Using the Windows Fax utility that came with my Jan.2002
Dell computer, and recently un-installed Quick Time
because it had corrupted the Fax function. All is well
now, but on viewing my received Fax's, they open in Paint
Shop Pro and are compressed and distorted. They print
out with the same distortions. If I "SAVE AS" the Fax
and SAVE to MS Word, they open in Windows Picture and
Fax Viewer and look great and print out normally. How
can I get my Windows Fax to have Windows Picture and Fax
Viewer as the default viewing and printing option?

Thanks.

To view faxes from the Fax Console, the Windows Imaging and Fax viewer must
be your default viewer for TIF files. You can easily restore that setting in
Windows Explorer > Folder Options. File Types. For most users the command
line should read:

"rundll32.exe <drive>:\WINDOWS\system32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen %1"
