Myst4 on XP

Hello All: I have started a thread about trying to run Myst4 on Vista and having Disc 2 not recognized by my drive.

I'm considering buying a cheap XP system with 1GB Ram to try running Myst4 on as I know the game states it is for "XP Only", but wanted to ask if anyone has had problems running it on XP as well?

It could be Disc 2 is damaged in some way, shape or form. You should examine it for any potential damage such a scratches. Perhaps it there is a smug or two that can be wiped away.

Just because a game may not be compatible with Vista, it still should be able to read the disk. You can also try to install it on a friend's PC to see if it your optical drive that is the problem.

Hello Jaguar: Ever since I first installed and tested the game (successfully) 3 years ago the disk has just been sitting in its case, which is why I'm mystified as to why it won't even install now. I will try to find someone to test it on their system and will post new results, if any. Thanks for your advice!
