Hey everyone, so I just bought a new Acer S232HL 23" monitor for my PC. And now that I have HDMI on my monitor, I can easily plug in my xbox 360 to the back and use the monitor for both my pc and xbox.

My only problem is I don't know how to receive audio from the game. I know HDMI transmits sound, BUT my monitor does not have built in speakers.. I use two bookshelf speakers plugged into a receiver which is then plugged to my computer.

I also have turtle beach x11 headsets.

And i know i can use the original xbox cable with all the component cables but it doesnt fit when hdmi is in. And i do not feel like breaking the enclosure on it for it to fit.

I was going to buy the RCA audio adapter which is slimmer and all, but is there by any chance an easier way i can receive audio.

help would be greatly appreciated.

You have a few options depending on your receiver inputs. If you have an optical input on your receiver then just use the optical out from your xbox.

If you don't then you can pick up something like this: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&sugexp=pfwc&cp=18&gs_id=22&xhr=t&q=hdmi+cable+with+audio&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1680&bih=930&wrapid=tljp1333480902269036&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=1147637816405845728&sa=X&ei=y017T6baJ5DPiAKmk9XmCw&sqi=2&ved=0CI8BEPMCMAE#
