I just got a CUSL2-C mainboard along with a new p3 866 processor and a Creative Annihilator 2 GTS card. Now, the BIOS says that it's running AGP 4x, but any diagnostic programs report 2x being the mainboard's maximum, "although the adapter supports 4x".
Has anyone seen this issue before and have any advice?
I too am having this problem and posted a question regarding it as well. I have never been able to fix it, and I've had my card since August.
Asus Geforce 256 DDR
darn thing is stuck at 2X but 4X shows no great speed improvement - so I have delt with it.
But man would I love to see that thing boot up at 4X!
At bus stations, busses stop. At train stations, trains stop. My desk has a work station. GO FIGURE!
Basically, that's my issue too. I just finished playing a round of Unreal Tournament at 1024x768x32 and sustained 80 FPS, usually sitting around 100-120. Quake3 runs the same way, so I'm not really that concerned. Just bothers me to know that the machine supports it and that mine doesn't do it.
Anyone who wants the fix send me a private message with your email and I will send it to you. My only request for this service is that you pass it on. I have the fis for the CUSL2, someone else has it for the P3V4X (you'll have to look for that one).
