GlobalWin FOP32 Cooler damages ASUS Boards

Hi there!

Today I purchased a GlobalWin FOP32 Cooler and the salesman told me that it might severly damage ASUS Socket A Mainboards because of the metal restraints. He said some people brought back their coolers because the high pressure of the restraint broke off the plastic nose on the socket itself, making it impossible to attach another cooler. Does anyone know about this and how to prevent it?

I have not heard of this cooler causing any damage. However, I felt that the clip on my FOP32 was too tight and I just took it out and bent it a little so it didn't put so much pressure on.
Now some people will argue that GlobalWin would never make something incorrectly and you should not bend it. Or they say that it should have so much pressure so that it cools better.
However, I just didn't trust it so I bent mine and I have never had a problem.

Just use your best judgement.
