I need a good handsfree 2.5 mm plug headset for use in the car.
High quality sound-- both inbound and outbound-- is the primary requirement
so I'll need something with a boom mike, not a dangle mike.
Easy on/easy off would also be nice as would compact size. So something that
just goes on/in the ear rather than an over the head support would be good
too.
And an earpiece volume control would be nice-- but not necessary.

If sound quality is the primary requirement then Etymotics.
Pricey and goes way in the ear but you can't beat it for
quality and size.

Yes. these look really really neat. Unfortunately the supported
phone list is pretty short at the moment.

Have a look at the Jabra Earwave Boom. I just placed an
order on Ebay for a total cost of less than $10 after having
an opportunity to use try one. It was very comfortable,
felt secure, i.e. like it wouldn't fall off, and the voice
quality was good (no On/Off switch on the cord, though).
Some folks don't like having something in the ear Vs over
the ear, but I think the former makes it easier to hear
clearly. For good images and info check it out on
Amazon.com.
