Your a looser for not putting in 33.6, which is what most of the United States is limited to STILL-REALLY! The fastest I can get IN TOWN is 44k and on Campus I'm limited to 33.6! I'm not the looser, my school neglects people who live in their apartments, so there is nothing I can do except move. Your the looser for not realizing that this crap happens-if you live outside of almost any city by more than a couple miles, unless it's California, your limited to 33.6 or slower!
I didn't realise that the US Telecom's were so bad, in the UK you can get a 46-56 connection form any phone line anywhere that I have ever been. Get the phone companies and burn them until they sort this out....
Opinions are like arseholes .... everybody’s got one....
Well the UK is kinda small as compared to the US. Lots of open territory in the US. Call it rural, backwoods, redneck country, etc.; These are the places were the telecoms are bad. Most any city can get a 52-48k connection. Me im using free LAN access in my dorm. Maxes about 400K downloads, but hey its FREE! I dont even own a modem!
Your still a loser for having 33.6. Just accept your identity. It's ok, I don't blame you. Your a victim of circumstance. Your still a loser though. =)

Yes, about 50% of our population lives in larger cities (over 60K people), and most of those people have choices of services and at least 56k access. But those cities and their outlying areas only cover about 2% of our inhabitable land. So 98% of our inhabitable land has no such access, relying instead on 20+ year old phone lines. Even with new equipement, line noise limmits most of these areas to about 44k if you live near the station, 33.6 in outlying areas of smaller towns, and 28k or less in rural areas. So 50% of us live in the 98% of land that does not have access even to basic 56k service.
I put cable for home, but I pc anywhere a few computers at school, and work on those more often than the home one, but their on one of those new lines- OC12, it's insane. I can download as much as I want as fast as another computer can give it to me.
