Ok, is this possible? Now, I'm not talking about the new KT133A, but the old, regular KT133. My motherboard, the MSI K7T Pro, has a BIOS setting that lets me switch the FSB to 133 mHz core / 33 mHz PCI, as well as 100/33 and a bunch of other inbetween settings. Now, the MSI website, under BIOS releases, says that new BIOS version 1.7 gives support for 133 mHz FSB processers. I think that it is possible, but some dude in the CPU overclocking board says no. Does anyone here know for absolute certainty whether or not it can really go to 133 mHz, cuz I want to turn my Duron 700 (7x100) to a Duron at 865 (133x6.5), as it won't boot at 133x7, it just resets to 100, probably cuz it can't handle a 930 mHz speed...

I haven't heard of ANYONE claiming to reach 133 mhz with a KT133 chipset. The general consenus has been that they are good for maybe 110 mhz. I seem to recall one person claiming to reach 120 mhz. My KT7 doesn't run reliably at anything over 106 mhz.

Well, isn't the whole reason why they don't run reliably past 110 because of the increased speed put to the AGP and PCI? That's the thing, the BIOS allows for a 133 FSB and keeps the PCI at 33, instead of raising it up and making the system unstable.

The way I understand it, the Northbridge, part of the KT133 chipset was designed and tested for 100 mhz operation. The Northbridge is not stable at significantly higher speeds. It is mainly for this reason that the KT133A chipset was developed.

No BIOS compensations will be able to overcome the defficiencies of the KT133's Northbridge.
