  1. because the amount of memory of your graphics card is a lot less important than the actual capabilities of the GPU. most people buy graphics cards simply by looking at the amount of memory but if the GPU is crap, no matter how much memory it has, it still won't run anything fast.

If you do have a decent GPU, than maybe you've simply overdone it on the game settings. remember, it's still a laptop... no matter how the GPU is named, a mobile gtx 550 for example is nowhere near its desktop counterpart.

finally there is the question of how well your laptop is set up to begin with. maybe too loaded with software to run well?

    what are your specs?
  2. full system specs please and the resolution and graphics settings you're trying to play with?

also check your windows power profile to be on full/maximum performance (not power save or anything in between)

also make sure the game is running with the dedicated card over integrated (if one is present)
  3. i hav a lenovo y570 with 8gb ram , 2gb nvidia 2gb dedicated graphics with an i7 2nd generation intel processor.
  4. the resolution i'm tryin to play is 1366x768 pixels and i hav a dedicated 2gb nvidia gtx550 graohic card ..... bt still most of the games suffers lagg ... pls help
  5. your looking at minimum settings on games like bf3, skyrim medium high, crysis 2 low medium. having 2 gigs of vram wont really help on your system until you attach a bigger screen via external output. you could have saved quite a bit of money and not lost any performance by getting the 1gig model... basically they have sold you a turkey in that they counted on you not knowing that you didnt need it.

settings that you will have to turn off in every game are things like msaa, fxaa, hbao, ssao soft shadows and depth of field... all of of these settings will have varying impacts on frame rates from a small medium impact to very large (hbao/ssao)
  6. well like what hexy said above, if your looking at bf3,metro and other stuff with lots of eye candy, you won't be making much out of it.
  7. but my friend has d same laptop nd his games wrk smooth ... y is dat so ?

Maybe you have some crazy global settings in the nvidia control panel, maybe you have a firewall and anti-virus program running, maybe your drivers are old.

Maybe its not the same card. Do you happen to know the exact model? nvidia control panel will tell you if you don't.
  9. he probably runs a cleaner machine than you do... check your startup and running processes, your likely to have way more than him...
