The purchase of a new computer with XP Home operating system required that I obtain a new XP based driver for my HP OfficeJet Series 700. The install instructions state that parallel port mode should be set to ECP and that the following ECP Printer Port (LPT1) settings be enabled: 1) use any interrupt assigned to the port, and 2) enable legacy plug and play detection for LPT1.
After several iterations of installing/uninstalling the new HP driver I can now print from Excel, Word and TurboTax. Word does not show the printer port-id in the printer setup window. Both Excel and TurboTax show the printer port-id as being DOT4_002. Quicken shows the printer port to be Ne00; attempts to print from Quicken are unsuccessful.
I am unsure as to whether or not I am making a cockpit error, have an HP Driver problem, an XP problem, or a Quicken problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My Printer wont print because the officejet series 700 is not made for my computer. I had this promble before. my borther in law installed it for me . I dont know how he did it. When I did my symtem recovery my printer was uninstalled from my computer. So I 'm asking, can You walk me though and tell me what to do... Or how to program my printer in my computer?
