Ok I just tried to close the bridges on my duron 700 (msi k7t pro2-a motherboard) After reinstalling the cpu I tried to go in to the bios and overclock, when I set it to multiplier of 9 I booted at 500, When I set it to 9.5 I got 550? What is going on did I not use the right type of pencil lead when closing the bridges? Not scribble enough? I have bios version 2.5 btw. Anyone have any Ideas?

well i did it succesfully with an HB pencil (make sure yours is HB), and i put so much pencil lead on there you can't see the bridges anymore!

Well it was an HB .5 lead I used.... I did it kind of thick ( I think I could just barely see the bridges afterward) but made sure they did not touch. Are you using a MSI K7T Pro2-A? If not what board?

I've gotten that too. You need to erase it, and start over. When I got that, I tried it again using the same pencil, and it worked. I think that I was just not filling in the L1s all the way. I was using an HB, and it worked fine in the end.
