Hello, ok so my freind won the Party Pack from Microsoft and he made me a copy of Windows 7. So i've been contemplating on installing it. The problem is, I don't want to lose my saved game files, and have to restart over again. Now i know they are transferrable to the new OS but the question is, will they work. Many thanks for your help.

All of your saved games will work work under 7. Game saves are OS independent. The games themselves might be another story though. Almost all games that worked under Vista will work in 7. If you're coming from XP though, that might not be the case.

Your friend is in breach of the licence agreement by giving you a copy and may find both copies get disabled. Unless you purchase a licence for your version, you have no legal right to use it, each copy requires it's own licence.

Jonmor is right. You will need to purchase your own license for that 7 disk your friend gave you before you can legally use it.

My previous statement still stands though.
