Quiet Case Fans

I'm am looking for case fans that are extremly quite. I tried adding a 80mm 3pin sunon fan to my case but that adds to much noise. My comp. is running a 1.2 tbird and with the only cooling being the alpha heatsink on the cpu(average temp is 38C). If you have any suggestions please let me know.

For a quiet 80 mm fan, PC Power & Cooling has my favorite. Variable between 20 to 29 dB, depending on your heat level. Compare their specs to 32 dB for the regular or 36.5 dB for the high output Sunon fans.

Papst and Panaflo fans are widely considered as having the best airflow/noise ratio. If you are in the US, Panaflo is probably easier to find.

Go with the Panaflo L1A, you will need to look at it to make sure it's on.

If a 80mm fan is too loud at 12V, you can just hotwire it to 7V, without a switch. It will still provide good cooling, at a reduced noise level.
