FSB OCing Problems

I've got a Tbird 1.2 @ 1.3 - 12.5x104 (Athlon B...)
208mhz bus
Abit KT7A
256 MB PC-133 SDRAM
Voltage set in BIOS at 1.75v though the same thing happens at 1.8v, 1.825v, and 1.85v.

I can't get my FSB to overclock any higher than what it is now. I can get everything to come up at 1315 and 1325 but right as it finishes loading 2k it bluescreens with a little error and restarts on its own.

Anyone know why I can't go any higher than 104? I know it should go higher than what it is now.

Thanks for your help.

have you tried running at a lower multiplier so it still equals 1.2ghz? ie 9x133

Yeah it's unlocked. If you had fully read, you would know that it's been overclocked from 1200 to 1300 already, it just wouldn't go higher. Alright, I'll lower the multiplier and see what happens. Thanks.

Well, I think I've seen the light and realized I didn't totally know what I was talking about.
My base multiplier is 12 (12x100 =1200) ... and I can make it go to 12.5 (104x12.5 = 1300) , however, I am unable to make it come up at 105x12, 104x12, 103x12, or 102x12. So, I guess I must have been wrong saying that my processor was unlocked, because, apparently it isn't.

The unlock refers to the cpu multiplier not the fsb so if you were able to change to 12.5 you are unlocked to test try to set the mult. to 10x or lower and see what happens. Have you messed with the i/o voltage?

Yeah I know how to mess with voltage. Okay, turns out I was wrong about it being locked, its unlocked, heh.
What happened what it was out of spec, so I took the RAM down to PC-100 and then ran it at 133x9 and it worked fine. So, I've gone from a 1300mhz with a 208mhz to a 1200mhz with a 266mhz bus. I'll see how high I can get later.

Unlocked from the factory right? Both my 1.2's were. You should easily get 10x133 +10FSB- try this and then go to +11, +12, +13 if you are lucky.

Yeah, I managed to get 10x133 but when I would be running a 3D App it would randomly quit it. (3DMark 2000,2001, Quake 3). Its just at 9x133 right now.

*should* it be able to go past 10x133, or did I just get unlucky? I've got a KT7A and PC-133 SDRAM.
Oh and, yes, unlocked from the factory.

Well that's me with same board and chip. What brand of RAM? What HSF? Have you tried other combos like (9x 133 +15FSB is highest I can go- 12.5x 100 host+PCI +10- 9.5/133host+20)??

"Major Brand" isn't specific enough for people who OWN the same chips to tell you anything about them- I have owned 5 different "major brand" memory but all spec and bench very different. At least the chipset and PVC maker info is usually need to determie what kind you have. FYI- I bought a 120mm fan from 3dfxcool and it lowered my case by 5C and the proc by a few.

Well, basically I don't totally know what "chipset and PVC maker info" are exactly but i'll just randomly type stuff out...
Uh...MEM32x64-133, and...uh, it says '1-1' on the stick, as well as '-75E' and a lot list of letters but I'm not gonna type it out. Maybe that's what you were looking for, I have no idea, heh.
