Printer prints gibberish

I inherited an Epson printer that will not actually print anything I type into a word document. It acts as if it is going to, then it spits out page after page of gibberish, in black and in color. Should I reinstall the print driver?

Not before you correctly UNINSTALL it!

Not before you correctly UNINSTALL it!
