I'm thinking of switching companies to Verizon, for better coverage in my
area.
I would like to know which phone you guys would recommend. I'm not
interested in any PDA functions (I have a Zire 72), but I do want to be able
to do the following:
- Have different ringtones based on caller groups
- Have a speakerphone
- Have some way of synchronizing phone numbers with Outlook
- Hopefully not have an antenna
Do you know of any phones that fits these requirements? If it has a few
extra bells and whistles, great. If not, no biggie.

As far as I know verizon phones ALL have antennas. I have yet to see a
verizon phone with an Intenna.

Here's a phone being offered by Verizon Wireless that doesn't appear to have
the stub antenna you would rather not have. I included the Nokia link but
you can see the Verizon site for yourself.
I don't really know about the phone. Just what I've read. It apparently
fits your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th requirements. Not sure about the first. You
may want to look on the web for some reviews on the phone. Hope this helps.

From the link you gave on the large view, back side, zoom in on the upper
left shows what looks to be the top button of an pull out antenna. ;-)

Guess you're right. Hmmm, didn't see that. Oh well, I tried.

The Blackberry 7750, as marketed by Verizon has an internal antenna. I
would not recommend it as this is another example of a goofy
combination between a wireless phone and Blackberry device. A huge
hockey puck which does not do all that it should, given the cost.
I do not believe there is a mobile office kit for this phone, nor have
I been able to find a software package that can use this unit for
wireless internet connection. So much for synergy and interoperability-
it does not exist. Don't get me into a discussion on the difficulties
of setting up a Blackberry enterprise server for email forwarding, to
this unit. Research in Brownian Motion is what RIM should be renamed.

No. It is because VZW is a serious vendor of communications. At this
point of time phones without antennas are not sufficiently reliable to
be offered.
If you want trinkets, go elsewhere. If you want to talk on your
phone, get one with an antenna.
