This is rediculous. I'm trying to overclock a T-Bird 900 on an Asus A7V. I finally got into bios, where it desplays a message saying that "the computer hung on the last boot due to an improper external cpu speed setting". I can't get it past the "Award Plug and Play BIOS Extention 1.0A" line on boot up. All I did to the chip was close all the L1 bridges. I was under the impression that's all I had to do...is this correct and does anyone have an ideas on how I could fix my problem?

Check how you did the bridges. Pencil Trick? Make sure they don't overlap.

It's better to be pissed off than pissed on :)

I'm tending to think I have a mobo issue. I put in a different processor, a factory locked 800, and I got the same problem. It appears to be detecting the processor correctly.
