Im getting a boxed cpu and motherboard and wont be overclocking till later this year. Do i still need a new HSF or can i use the one that comes in the box? Also do i need thermal compound or is it included? Lastly is installing a hsf on a cpu hard..this is my 1st system im building

If it's a 486 dx2/33mhz, no you don't need a heat sink, just the power supply fan. If it's a 486 dx2/66mhz, yes you'll need a heatsink, and possible a case fan too.
